Like Job, we all go through levels of disappointment. Well, I doubt anyone else has to his exact level in the account of the Bible. Still, we experience tragedies in different facets of life, be it in the home, our finances, at the workplace and even regarding our health. At such times it's easy to wonder whether God is aware, cares or even in control. You have two options of response though: wallow in despair and depression and throw in the towel - do whatever comes to mind - an assumed self-conceived but devil-manipulated thought pattern in a bid to temporarily escape one's reality; or to hold on and hang in there on God's promises, trusting that after every midnight comes the breaking forth of dawn to the day that the Lord has made in which we shall see our cares and concerns met by His mighty hands and indeed be glad in it. The former is immediate, shallow, regretful and what the deceiver has wanted from the garden of Eden - to put asunder between man and His Creator. The path leads to a horrible feeling of emptiness in the soul. But the latter, while hardly ever evident as the right course of action towards the solution, is often drawn out, with the inevitable mental battle that should lead to the refining of our faith, which we must build in this life unto maturity.
So regardless of the nature of your present situation, please hold on. If you have been resisting the urge to think, say and act contrary to what you know is God's will, keep on keeping on. You might as well get something out of the pain already experienced. Persevere as you have many a time in the past, even if it means whispering a short prayer "Lord help my faith" (cos that is what's really being challenged). Say the Word that comes to you, repeat them in your heart and by His grace He will keep you firmly in His presence till you are free from your undesired situation.
After such a time you may just realize that it was good He allowed you to experience the prison of trial and purification in preparation for your installation in the palace of peace, prosperity and fulfillment.
Shalom
